Vienna Teng @ The Hotel Cafe

Got back from Vienna's show at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood tonight. Her set list is as follows.

Whatever You Want
Blue Caravan
In Another Life (Alex on melodica)
1br/1ba with car beep outro
Antebellum
I Don't Feel So Well
Kansas
Grandmother Song

New to me were In Another Life, Antebellum, Kansas and Grandmother Song. Her new album is going to be sooo good! I'm really proud of the work she's done on the new stuff. I had a few friends come to the show and they were blown away! Which is usually the case when I introduce Vienna to new people. I also have to say that I'm busting with pride seeing her perform Grandmother Song, because she was practically rapping. It's a small point of pride in my life that I introduced Vienna to rap music some years ago and still give her many a good rap CD. In fact, for her upcoming birthday I gave her The Game's latest album, "LAX." I love that album, I can't help myself.

Almost immediately following the show she had to return to the mixing studio. I did act a little selfishly and stuck around while she signed CD's, although, I did take a many picture for fans. So even though I co-oped some of her time with fans, at least I served a utilitarian function. What?! I haven't seen one of my best friends in over a year and a half and now I gotta share her with fans? Sorry, Vienna's fans, you were probably wondering who this funny charming girl was who kept interrupting them with silly little banter. :) I didn't interrupt, I promise. And by promise, I mean, wink wink. I really should make an effort to visit her in NYC. I haven't been in years.
