What I do...

I'm working on a new script. It's an original pilot idea that I've been tossing around for about nine months. I'm finally sitting down and going about the tough task of laying bare my soul and writing.

When I write, I become an uber nerd. I watch things that inspire me, I read a random variety of books, magazines and newspaper articles, I listen to music. I literally surround myself with as much culture as possible. I inundate myself. For example, yesterday it was The Economist, Watchmen and the first season of The West Wing. This is what I do. I also become a hermit, a shut-in. My friends don't always understand, especially, when I'm a ghost when work is in production.

I'm not suggesting that as a writer you do what I do, but just in case you wondered what I do.

Btw, the first season of The West Wing is awesome! I'd die happy if anyone ever used my name and Aaron Sorkin's name in the same sentence.
